Valerian oil is extracted by steam distillation of the rhizomes and roots of Va/eriana jatamansii Jones, responsibly  harvested from the Himalayan regions of Nepal.

Characteristics Appearance: A mobile liquid

Color: Olive to brown

Aroma: Warm-woody, balsamic, musky odor and top  note in fresh oil

Active constituents

Mainly ar-curcumene,      and y-patchoulenes, calarene,

bergamotene, maliol, fenchene, -sitosterol, valeranone, isovale­ ric acid, -methylvaleric       acid

Uses

  • Used in aromatherapy to relieve stress and
  • Used as a fragrance component in soaps and other
  • Used to flavor tobacco, beer, liquors and apple

Therapeutic Uses: Apply topically for insomnia, nervous indigestion, migraine, restlessness and tension state.

Directions for Use: Apply 1-2 drops to desired area. Dilute with carrier oils to minimize any skin sensitivity. Use 3-4 drops in the diffuser.

Cautions: Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. Pregnant should not use.

Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears and sensitive areas.
